How can I extend the range of my wireless network using a second access point?

I bought a belkin wireless g router / acces point. How can I configure it to extend on my existing wireless network wirelessly. The new access point is in my office and the on with internet is upstairs. It is a linksys. I can also use my old actiontec wireless router if i cant do it with my linksys.

You can use the Belkin wireless router to extend the range of an existing network only if you use the Web Based interface to log onto the router's advanced configuration pages and go to the Wireless > Use as Access Point page and clicking "Enable", give the access point an IP that is not already taken up by any devices on your network, and running an ethernet cable from your existing router to the WAN port on your new access point.
