i Have Some Questions Regarding Woofers and Subwoofers, Read And Answer Please?
What goes into the back of your trunk, woofers or subwoofers? and does it really needs to be place in the wooden boxes? what if they arent placed into the wooden boxes? if they are placed into the wooden boxes, are the boxes screwed down into the trunk to keep it from moving, or is the box just placed there so it can make room everytime the trunk is in use? what is the name for the wooden boxes that are used to hold woofers or sub woofers? since its a wooden box, can i make one myself with a saw, wood, and nails? whats so special about wooden boxes you buy in stores compared to ones you can find around the house that fits the woofers alrite? is it true the bigger the subwoofer or woofers, the stronger the bass?
i know this is kind of random, but im very much curious, please answer them if you can.

they are called enclosures and the enclosure is the most important part.A well made enclosure can make even the cheapest speakers sound good.Now the ones you buy at the store are just an easy fix.most of them are not actually the proper size for the speakers that fit them/.Now if you was to do a serious study of the subject you will soon find that even the trunk of a car is too small of an enclosure for most speakers.Thats where you have to learn about lining the box,ports,and etc...I woyuld suggest going to your lib5rary and checking out some books on the subject that will teach you the best appl;ication for what you are wanting.Home boxes will work but,like I said you need to know what you are doing so that you can properly tune the speaker to the enclosure that you have chosen.And no bigger speakers don't mean more bass,it's all in building a proper enclosure.Look at your german speakers,blaup.and bose.These guys take 2-4 inch speakers that put out some awesome sound and,they do this by speaker enclosure,the speakers themselves really aren't that impressive but,,,,MAN DO THEY SOUND!so if you want some deep bass,get an enclosure,deadmat your trunk,and by all means port the box.Now if you dead mat your trunk you can free stand your speakers with out an enclosure(the trunk will be your enclosure)but,if you get a quality system you won't want to free-stand because you'll need to keep them from grounding(some systems will short the amp if your speaker comes in contact with metal,so unless you use rubber gaskets to mount them you won't want to freestand.And last,yes you can make your own box but,,,,,get a book and learn what you need before beginning otherwise you're wasting your time and money,and always invest in a cross-over network.
