Issues with home theater system and xbox 360?
I just bought a brand new home theater system. Whenever I hook it up with optical to my xbox 360, my home theater system constantly makes this weird buzzing type noise. I can't hear any xbox sounds. When I hook my home theater to xbox 360 with the red and white cables, it sounds perfectly fine. It only does it with the optical cable. I've tried both optical slots on my home theater system. I even bought a new optical cable and that didn't fix it either. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?
That's not working as it should. My Xbox 360 using optical to my receiver works fine. It could be many things, but try the easiest to fix first.
Reseat the Xbox cable that has the Optical Jack on it. Make sure it is nice and snug.
Reseat the optical cable, make sure it fits snuggly.
Borrow/replace a new Xbox video cable and optical cable to test to see if they are the problem.
If it is none of these, most likely it is the Home Theater or the XBox system. They make work fine, it could be just the optical jack/connector that's not working right.
