Klipsch Quintet III or Cinema 6 PLEASE HELP!?
i have purchased the klipsh quintet 3 along with the synergy 10. i read from cnet and they were drooling over it, but then i had a local high end home theater store sell the cinema 6 for close to the same price.WHICH IS BETTER? i really want one of them but i have no clue which to get especially b/c the cinema 6 is twice as much msrp going the the same price. also cinema 6 center speaker is smaller.....SORRY for all the details....but PLEASE HELP!!! thanks ALOT!!

I can't find any reviews on the Cinema 6 system (and none are listed on the Klipsch site either).
First let me say that I favour Klipsch speakers. I don't think you can go far wrong. But which is better?
The Quintet III has excellent reviews while the Cinema 6 is a bit of an unknown. While both are small surround systems the technology is quite different. The Cinema 6 is more conventional (small woofer and titanium dome tweeter) and is quite efficient (89 db). The Quintet III has the Klipsch hallmark horn tweeter and is slightly less efficient (90.5 db). The efficiency difference means you need a bit less power to achieve the same volume with the Cinema 6 system ... but it's not really significant (94 db would be). The Quintet III satellites have slightly wider frequency response than the Cinema 6 (110 -23Khz vs 116-20Khz, both + or - 3 db).
The Cinema 6 centre has a bit lower frequency response (more overlap with the sub) than the Quintet III (105 vs 120 Hz), which may suggest an advantage. On the other hand dual woofers may be preferable to single given the importance of centre channel to a 5.1 setup.
The real difference is in the subwoofer. The Synergy 10 subwoofer handles bass down to 28 Hz while the sub with the Cinema 6 system is limited to 35 Hz. Both have a 120 Hz top end.
It's a tough call, although the apparently superior subwoofer nudges me toward the Quintet. Add to that the fine reviews and the ability to say you have the worlds smallest horn loaded system and I'd lean toward the Quintet III over the Cinema 6. That said, I would decide by listening and going with my gut.
It's difficult, but try not to be influenced by MSRP ... look at what YOU PAY ... and judge the sound before jumping -- if you still have that option.
