I have a 10 speaker cube bose system (0ne on top of each other) the amp went dead what is a good replacement?
my 10 spkr bose sytm amp. went dead would like to rplace it with a new amp (not Bose) can you suggest a good amplifier that will not compromise the quality of the sound.
I doubt you can use a non-Bose amp since the speakers are heavily equalized through the electronics and connections between the amp and sub are proprietary.
Bose sound would be hard to compromise, since it's mediocre at best. I'd strongly suggest going with something more open standard (and better sound). A receiver with the power and features you want from reputable brand manufacturers like Onkyo, Pioneer, Denon or Yamaha would be a good choice (They all make receivers at a range of price points).
For speakers ... assuming you still want small/satellite style ... Mirage (actually owned by Klipsch) make some of the best, but other choices include Energy, KEF and Definitive Technology, See the links.
