How to hook up portable hard drive to car stereo...?
I bought a 320gb maxtor basics hard drive intending on hooking it up to my Pioneer-DEH-P7000UB stereo which features a USB hookup (meant more for ipods and such). I reformatted it to FAT32 so it cold be recognized, but the stereo is still having problems reading it. What should I do?

The hard drive is much to large for the stereo to read. Remember your putting this onto a car stereo, not a computer. Which is why you should have put that money towards an iPod to connect to your stereo. This way the media player is right there. I am not sure about the DEH-7000UB stereo that you have, but I know mine the AVIC F90BT has the microsoft media player installed on it. There is no way that your going to be able to do that, you need a stereo that has an internal hard drive to install the media player into the unit. So your better off getting an iPod and connecting that to your stereo not a hard drive.
