Need a High power receiver for $500-$800?
I need i high a power receiver hdmi input and 7.1 or 7.2 channels and i would also like dobly true hd dts master audio and other hd sound types im getting the klipsch icon series so i need about 130 watts per channel any higher is better i would like bi amp capability but it really doesn't matter looking at the $500 to $800 price range can be a little higher 1 maybe 2 hundred more if its allot better and if you know any deals for the receiver on any site tell me please. thanks for any suggestions
Focus on Onkyo and Pioneer Elite. These are very capable receiver brands that offer excellent sound for a home theater receiver. Sony ES is an honorable mention.
I especially like the Pioneer Elite SC-05. And I've seen this receiver (at an $1,800 list) on eBay for within your initial price range. The Onkyo models are a little more spendy per watt, but you won't need as many watts per channel (e.g. 100 watts per channel would be plenty) because of their high-current design and underrated power ratings.
