I just got a set of Infinity Classia C255ES can anyone tell me what the monopole bipole dipole setting does?

I just got a set of Infinity Classia C255ES can anyone tell me what the monopole , bipole , dipole setting does ?
Also does anyone have an opinion about using one of these speakers as a center . Or adding it in addition to a infinity primus pc250 center?

To help you understand, my explanation below is referring to only one of the two speakers at a time.
In monopole, the speakers on each side will operate separately, so you can use them as rear channel and rear Surround in a 7.1 system.
In bipole mode the speakers operate together and send sound in each direction to fill the room. Great for front or rear channel.
In dipole mode the speakers on each side operate a little out of phase. This is how THX recommends running the rear channels.
