Why won't all 5 speakers on my Yamaha 'lite up' during 5.1 DVD Movie?
Yamaha RX-V365 → all hookups are HDMI...But I cannot get all 5 speaker lights to illuminate when playing DVD's in 5.1 surround.
Only (2) the left and right illumintae. So I have to use the Music Enhancer to 'simulate' 5.1. → What have I done wrong?
Do you have your receiver set to play surround sound mode or dolby pro logic mode? Sometimes it switches off while playing music or watching regular tv and you need to reset it.
Second...do you have the DVD player connect directly to the receiver? If you don't and you are running it out of the TV - wrong. TVs don't process surround sound they only have 2 channel sound (left and right) coming out of the TV audio output. The DVD player needs to be hooked directly to the receiver first and then the video goes over to the TV separately using a digital optical cable or component cables.
