What is the best way to wire 2 4 ohm dual voice coil memphis subs?
I need some help this is my first time setting up a sound system.I have 2 4 ohm dual voice coil memphis subs rated at 500w rms each. What would be the best way to wire them and what kind of amp should I get to get the most out of the subs.
hey whats up? there is a couple of different ways to hook them up depending on the the amp.mainly the ohms of the amp,if you have a 2 ohm stable 2 channel amp(2ohm per channel)(stereo=regular)(4ohm-bridged) then you can hook your subs up in parallel witch will bring each speaker to 2ohms,this would be the best way.and with the amp not bridged it will never over heat. And on the size of the amp they usually go by max watts,so i would double your sub rms watts to even out the power,so a 2 channel 2ohm 2000watt peak 1000per channel, amp would match up perfect,thats 1000watts peak per channel and about 500watts rms,and your box has alot to do with what they will sound like too so go with the size box made for your subs or bigger box makes for a bigger boom,well i hope this helps you out and have a good one
