can be pine stain with a stain cherry?
I have a pine wardrobe (sp) that I want to re-finish, I want it to be as dark cherry. If I stripped and used a cherry finish might look dark or would I be better to use a dark paint?
"Cordoba" is a very dark cherry stain ... Yes, you can stain pine or any other type of wood, also .... you can even use colors unusual, like a blue or green lol. Just head down to your local hardware, building materials or paint store, to obtain samples ... I would also like to buy a piece or two of pine, test it on .... Adding more layers of dye, will also help to darken a little more. Just enough time to allow proper drying between coats. Then finish it off with a good finish for protection. Polyurethane is a good coat, and you can get in a "satin" finish or "High Gloss". For something like a black cherry, I prefer the high gloss myself, but it's just me. Try different combinations on your test card ... once you have the look you want ... go ahead.
