Should I amp my 4 Boston Acoustics?
I have 2 BOston S65rcs and 2 Boston S95s. They each are 35 watt RMS. I have a Sony CDX GT520 head unit. Should i amp those? i know kenwood make a 40w 4 channel but i like to avoid kenwood from the reviews. i would go with the Alpine mrp f300 which is 50w to 4 channels but is that to much power, could you turn down the gain and it would be fine?
With a good quality speaker like that -- I'd want an amp running them.
17w from an HU just isn't going get the most out of a quality aftermarket speaker.
I think a good 50x4 would be perfect.
Actually, a good 2 channel would work nearly as well, you'd simply be unable to fade.
Something basic like - http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22477_Clarion+XR2210.html would get you about 45w per speaker.
If you want to retain the ability to adjust the fronts volume vs the rears you'd need to stay with a 4 ch.
