Is it okay to place my TV on top of my audio receiver?
My receiver has a "vent grill" on the top if it, our dorm is tight on space and the only place we can put the receiver is under the TV. Is this potentially fatal to my receiver? Could it overheat?

NEVER obstruct vents on electronic components. In the case of anything with an amplifier, leave a minimum of 2' (5cm) of free space above it. In other cases, the space that is left by the feet on a component will usually allow sufficient airflow for the unit below it. But a TV usually has a flat base, as opposed to feet, so must be on its own shelf or bracket.
A 10-degree increase in operating temperature usually cuts component life in half.
